You sit in front of your computer on a regular basis, so put some razzle dazzle in your day with a desktop that suits your personality. It’s easy to change your desktop image, and we know about endless free desktop wallpapers to choose from. We’re going to walk you through the change process.
Changing Your Desktop Wallpaper
If you have Windows pre-Vista or Windows 7, you simply right-click once anywhere on your desktop to access a menu with several options. The one you want is Properties. Click on that, and a dialogue box labeled Display Properties pops up. There will be tabs labeled Themes, Desktop, Screensaver, Appearance, and Setting. Choose Desktop.
This shows you a tiny image of your computer screen, complete with your current desktop. Below it you will see the word Background plus a list of free desktop wallpapers that were included when you bought your computer. You can choose one of them – or go for something different!
Do you notice the Browse button off to the right? Click on that and you can then access the Browse dialogue box. You’ll be able to choose from photographs that you’ve taken and uploaded into your computer, or you can select one of the lovely free desktop wallpapers that you’ve downloaded from the internet. Once you’ve chosen one, click Open and then Apply. Or right click on one of our Wallpapers (once shown in Full Screen) and click on “Set as Background” – That’s all you need to do!
Windows Vista and 7 is even easier. Just right-click once anywhere on the desktop, and you’ll notice the little menu. Choose Personalize. This brings up a box with a list of options. Choose Desktop Background. Your drop-down choices are labeled Look In…so you just choose the photos or wallpaper that you want to display. The rest is pretty much the same.
The most popular wallpapers come in all categories. You can choose from nature, art, fantasy, supermodels, animals, or cartoons. There are free desktop wallpapers to celebrate your favorite movie or game. Choose something with some personal relevance!
If you long to see a Broome sunset, take a pick from love pictures guaranteed to satisfy your preference. Are you looking for a photo reminiscent of a place you’ve been? Or do you want to view a place where you long to be? There are magnificent photos taken from Karijini National Park. Cable Beach offers some fantastic scenery. It’s good to choose a photo with a low point of view if you want to display it on a widescreen computer desktop.
Lots of people want beach photos that show Australia’s lovely, curving shores, colorful flora, and unique rock formations. The beaches seem endless, and you can just feel the warmth of the perfect white-yellow sands or the cool of the clear azure waters. Or choose something that contrasts a serene horizon against a cloud-dappled sky.
Has The Kimberley, W.A., won your heart? When the sun’s just right in the sky it chases the clouds and tints them with a bit of gold. Look at amazing scenery along the Fortescue River, or take a visit to Mitchell Falls. And the Kimberley’s environs are rich with the captivating rock art of long-ago natives.
If animals and insects whet your curiosity, look for photos of koalas or kangaroos. You can look at wombats or dingoes, or maybe a camel. There are amazing bearded dragons from the central deserts, or how about a fine old crocodile to greet you every day? Australia hosts over 86,000 varieties of insects. That includes some beautifully hued Lepidoptera-more commonly known as butterflies. Insects grow rather large in Australia because of the warm climate, so you’ll find some amazing photos.
Visuals of the Australian landscapes are so varied. This is such a wide, wild, and beautiful country that your best choice is to download several photos of your favorite places and rotate them. Whether you want golden deserts or beaches, majestic mountains, meandering rivers, thundering waterfalls, amazing rock formations, the exploding colors of flowers, the graceful draperies of trees, or simple urban park scenes, your choices from free desktop wallpapers are endless.
