Description: This photo was taken on a sunny morning in early August just near a small country town in Western Australia called Clackline. These ants were making their way to some decent views up a large gum tree. Something tasty or cozy was up this tree waiting for them.

Description: Taken just as the sun was setting on Cable Beach. This little sand crab was rolling up some crab balls and creating a piece of art at the same time. So much work to have it washed away within a few hours at the next incoming tide.

Description: This photo was taken on lazy afternoon at Windjana Gorge up the Gibb River Road. There were literally hundreds of white cockatoos sitting in the trees and on the face of the gorge. Windjana reminds me of a scene from Jurassic Park – with fresh water crocodiles sitting on the waters edge, fossilized rock faces towering over what seems to be the only fresh water for miles. Well worth a visit if you are holidaying in the Kimberley, Western Australia.

Description: This Wedge Tailed Eagle was sitting rather comfortably on broken tree branch in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. These majestic flying and hunting machines love snacking on road kill and their wing span can exceed 2 metres. An amazing bird to watch and photograph – you can see a photo of this eagle in flight here.

Description: Who said spiders were creepy? Well this one was and at about the size of my hand you wouldn’t want this crawling in your hair whilst your sleeping. Taken in the hills just out of Port Vila in Vanuatu – apparently there are no poisonous insects or snakes on these islands? – this is what the locals told us – but I’ve got second thoughts!
