Description: This photo was taken on a one way trip from Broome to Perth. The pinnacles were created over millions of years as erosion, wind and the forces of nature moulded the shell lime rich sand. Many people think they are fossilised trees from a long time ago but you can find out more about the Pinnacles Here.

Description: This photo was taken half between Port Hedland and Newman. The Great Northern Highway cuts through a decent stretch of Gorge’s and Red Rock scenery. The “Iron Rich” dark red’s in the landscape create some amazing landscapes well worth photographing – If you are driving from Perth to Port Hedland, make sure to take your camera!

Description: This dusk / sunset was simply amazing and was taken between Newman and Port Hedland a couple of days after Cyclone Monty in 2004. There was a lot of water on the roads from this cyclone and traveling in a Mazda 626 at the time (which is very low to the ground) did not help my confidence on this trip.

I have a few more photos I’d like to add to BT Wallpapers from this journey… so stay tuned! I even got some airtime on ABC National Australia when I arrived in Port Hedland later that night, ABC radio keeps you company out in the middle of nowhere at night and I had to quote a cooking disaster – which was Eileen Microwaving chicken breast on Full (not defrost) for 10 minutes… You can get a bit delusion after a few hours of solid driving.
